Les Amandiers
A charming manoir in the beautiful Dordogne countryside...perfect for large group holidays
Les Amandiers has been welcoming guests since 1989. The property is ideally suited to large groups of family and friends covering different age groups with varying needs. We are always delighted to hear from previous guests who have enjoyed their stay. Please read on for reviews kindly provided by some of these people...
WE ALL LOVED IT
The recipe of Les Amandiers was just right for us! The extensive ingredients fitted ALL our needs and tickled our taste buds and everyone had freedom, facilities and comfort to enjoy their holiday. WE ALL LOVED IT.
Your gift of hospitality, so mirrored by Jason and Karen [property guardians], who seemed to pop up at all times just when we thought we had something to ask, meant there was nothing lacking and we had encouragement to explore and utilise.
It wasn’t just the extensive inventory both in and outside, where if we were prepared to open a cupboard all that we could ever need met us in plenty - or even cooking apples from the nicely kept gardens. It was the atmosphere of generosity. I thought a later visit in the year, where your massive fig trees would similarly provide, an attractive option!!
I loved the morning walk, down the hill, into the village for the bread from the small, but very friendly and well stocked mini market.

The whole property, its grounds and its furnishings, many refrigerators (indeed it was very hot during our stay), the utility room and its facilities supplied all our needs - just the job when you have many children with you and their clothes need washing and they constantly need to be refreshed by cool drinks from yet another refrigerator.
Such a sense of availability, not just of objects or about their use, but the advice always on hand with Jason and Karen interested but never intrusive. The swimming pool kept sparkling, crystal clean by daily attention, every age group catered for lavishly. No restrictions on noise during the tension of water polo matches in the sizeable pool.
Thank you so much. We had a delightful holiday, including extended family staying with us for three days from Northern Ireland, the cream on the cake, we had that sense of ease, usage and delight in the whole property and its many acres providing both rest to spirit and activity wherever we chose to meet. We highly recommend it.

THE PERFECT LOCATION
A perfect setting for our family reunion of 19. The village is great and the house and setting something special. The house is full of character and with plenty of room and all the facilities that were advertised. We had all age ranges and everyone loved it! The pool, the lake, the gardens all perfect. The kitchen area and outside dining balcony were spot on for this group. I would absolutely recommend this!

A LOVELY STAY
From our arrival and warm welcome from Karen and Jason our party of 11 ranging in ages from 18 months to 69 had a lovely stay at Le Manoir. The first floor terrace being a great place to get together. Plenty of space for us all to eat and safe for the little ones. Watching the red squirrels was an added and unexpected bonus. A shame the weather in the second week didn't allow us to make as much use of the great pool area as we would have wished. We'd be happy to return.

EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS

The property exceeded our expectations and the location was spectacular. All the bedrooms and gites were comfortable, the kitchen enormous. Space even for our party of 20.

The grounds and swimming pool are fabulous.

I cannot praise highly enough the property and facilities and will definitely be re-visiting again.

GEM OF A PROPERTY

This is a gem of a property. The location is great - a short stroll down the hill into Villamblard.

The property is clean and elegantly stocked with every nick-nack you could possibly need. We were two families and the house allowed us all space to be individual and wonderful communal areas on the balcony and round the pool for meals and chats into the small hours.
